Get ready to feast your eyes on a seriously stylish wedding.

Over the years I have photographed lots of weddings in Kingscourt, Co Cavan – groups of friends and their family members –  and each time I meet up with all these people again I am blown away. I have never been disappointed by how friendly and welcoming they are to me. And now through following each other on social media, I feel like we’re friends for life.

I’m not sure where to start with Shane and Aideen’s wedding as it’s filled to the brim with style, love and laughter. I mean, we need to talk about Shane’s red suit! What a statement. Shane is in a rock band called ‘Words That Burn‘ so if anyone could pull off this suit, it was him. Seriously cool. And then Aideen’s two-piece dress…. drooooooool! Just stunning. Add on her red lippie, leather jacket, shades and I was smitten.

Both Shane and Aideen got ready at home, surrounded by family. Instead of the usual journey from bridal preparations to ceremony, Aideen visited her family’s pub  (M&F’s Bar) on the mainstreet of Kingscourt for a quick drink before heading towards the wedding ceremony in Clonabreany. Shane thought he was stopping for drinks in Cabra Castle but was instead surprised by a helicopter who was there to bring him and the groomsmen to Clonabreany. Now this is the way to arrive at your wedding!! As you can imagine, their ceremony was filled with the most amazing music so there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. And then it was time to PARTY.

As a photographer, one of the things I love about Clonabreany is that you can get the most stunning photos really quickly as you walk from the ceremony room up to the main house, no matter what the weather. It leaves the couple with lots of time to mingle with guests and enjoy the drinks reception. Shane and Aideen slipped away for a quick spin in the helicopter and still had time to chat with all their guests. The sun was splitting the stones so everyone was outside and the atmosphere was electric.

Honestly, there’s something in the water in Kingscourt as not only do they have some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met but they always know how to throw a great wedding. Shane and Aideen’s wedding is one day that I’ll never forget. Two of the nicest people, they truly opened their hearts to me and allowed me to document such a special day. I’m forever grateful. X
