The trend of rustic weddings is here to stay, with wild flowers, lace and more relaxed wedding styling as prominent as ever. Emulating this style, Margaret & Shane hosted a chilled rustic celebration at the perfectly suited and utterly charming Ballybeg House.
Margaret and the bridesmaids got ready in a bridal suite like no other – Grouse Lodge. It’s the ultimate secluded getaway, set on the Ballybeg estate. It was ideal for the group of girls to get ready in – lots of space!
Once the girls were ready we headed down the mountain to Shane & Margaret’s candlelit ceremony in a beautiful refurbished barn. Its rustic stonework, stained glass windows and open fires made it so intimate for everyone involved. After the ceremony, all the guests enjoyed the drinks reception on the lawn whilst Shane, Margaret and I headed off for some photos. Ballybeg has EVERYTHING on it’s doorstep so it didn’t take long at all to get amazing photos of them both.
Walking into their wedding reception was like walking back in time. Vintage lace, chandeliers and flowers everywhere created such a lovely atmosphere. They also had a cake table to beat all others. Shane had his own personalised cake, there were cupcakes, a victorian sponge and also a ‘cheese cake’ with three tiers of cheese and crackers. Dessert was well and truly sorted!!
I think my favourite moment from the wedding day was when Shane told Margaret that he had bought her a puppy as her wedding present. Being the dog obsessed person that I am, I thought that this was just the BEST. PRESENT. EVER.
Such a great wedding. X
